Keep your distance and wear them down with power shots and fireballs and the battle will be over quickly. A short automatic sequence will happen that shows Dink sneaking inside a hut and stealing the evidence he needs to prove what the Cast is doing. After killing him he'll lead you to the Cast's camp. Some elixers of life might help you if you get low on hit ponits. Head north a screen and kill the four goblins there.

Once you feel pumped head south of Kernsin to the Goblin Sanctuary. Then just scour the countryside picking up any heart containers and potions you can find lying around. (It's under a tree you have to burn with Fireball.) This is practically essential because you can't damage the boss goblin without it. First, save up 1500 gold and then head to the western beach and pick up Bow Lore. Sure you could head south to the Goblin Sanctuary right now but that would be a death wish.

You'll find out that you're going to need some evidence. Talk to the girl by the fountain in the town square and then head to the bookstore and talk to the mayor. While following the path you'll overhear a conversation between two Cast members saying that they plan to crash the parade. At one point I got completely stuck in the landscape for no apparent reason.ĭink!s one saving grace is its humour, which can often be entertaining, although not entertaining enough to make you want to put up with the game's many problems. Worse still are the many graphical glitches you'll come across. I challenge anyone to play Dink for more than a few hours without getting completely bored. Graphically, Dink is nothing to write home about, and it's no great shakes in terms of gameplay, either. You are given a sword and some magical powers to assist you in your efforts to rid the world of the kind of evil goings-on that always seem to plague games like this. In similar fashion to Zelda (or Diablo if you want a more modern comparison), you control a would-be warrior across a vast fantasy landscape.

Simply replace the 'D' in Dink with an 'L' and you have the main character from the SNES classic Zelda, and indeed the comparison between the two games is evident as much in terms of gameplay as game titles. This is probably because I've played it before, albeit some ten years ago. I had a slight feeling of deja vu while playing this game.
